Group classes in Murfreesboro
How Group Classes Work
Group classes are where Talking Tails' families come back to practice, sharpen, and build on the fundamentals their dogs learned in their program. Every class is led by one of our trainers and brings together dogs and owners in a structured setting, with real-world distractions built in.
Classes don't always happen in the same place. Some places we have group class are Lowe's, the greenway, or even a brewery or restaurant. We switch up locations so your dog learns to carry its training into all kinds of real-world environments.
Group class is where every client transitions into after graduating from their initial training program. It focuses on the fundamentals, expanded on around distractions, alongside like-minded owners who are all learning together.
For many of our clients, group class becomes a regular part of life with their dog, not something they finish. You can even make friends and schedule play dates.
Beyond your program
Why Group Classes Matter
Every dog training program requires owner input to maintain and grow what the dog has learned. Group classes give you a place to do exactly that, with a trainer right there to help.
A group setting teaches things that are hard to recreate on your own. Your dog has to stay aware of you while other dogs, people, and activity are all around it. That's where the fundamentals become reliable, and where you see how well your communication holds up when the environment gets busy. Dogs that struggle at first often make their biggest progress in class, because they learn that what they know at home still applies anywhere.
Classes are just as valuable for you as the owner. You'll get fresh eyes on your handling, quick adjustments for anything that has drifted, and answers to the questions that come up in everyday life with your dog.
Our approach
Same Fundamentals, Same Approach
Group classes are built on the same fundamentals your dog learned in its program. Every one of our trainers works the same way, teaching through touch, movement, and body language, so there's never any confusion about what's being asked, no matter who is leading the class.
We don't wait for a dog to make a mistake and then correct it. We make the answer clear from the start, and if it doesn't click right away, we adjust how we communicate with that individual dog until it understands. In class, you'll see that approach in action with your own dog and learn to use it yourself.
Our philosophy stays the same here too: train as you live. What you practice in class is meant to carry straight into your everyday life, so the progress you make with us shows up at home and everywhere you go.
Clients only
Who Can Join
All of our group classes are for current Talking Tails' clients only. They are not open to the public, and registration is only available after completing one of our initial training programs. Group classes are included with our Foundation Program, Board & Train, and Private Lessons Program, and you can keep coming with a membership.
Group classes are never mandatory. We have plenty of happy, successful clients who have never attended one. They're simply an option, and one that many of our clients find genuinely helpful for keeping their dog's training sharp and continuing to grow.
